Lisa K. Shebar
As Acting General Counsel for Gilyard Group, Ms. Shebar is primarily responsible for advising management on a wide range of legal issues including intellectual property, contract strategic decisions, and other corporate issues.
Ms. Shebar is Of Counsel to Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP and focuses on intellectual property and complex litigation matters. During her practice, Ms. Shebar left Katten to serve as Senior Counsel in the Marketing Practices Department of Sears, Roebuck and Co., where she handled a wide variety of transactional and adversarial intellectual property matters, oversaw a portfolio of more than 1000 trademarks, and engaged extensively in client counseling. Since rejoining the Firm, Ms. Shebar has continued to concentrate her practice in the areas of trademark matters.
Ms. Shebar received her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Mathematics and Economics from Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL) and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois College of Law.
Ms. Shebar is a member of the Bars of the State of Illinois and the State of Texas, and she is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She is a member of the International Trademark Association, the American Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association.
